Check Communications Ltd was formed in 1990 by Managing
Director Geoff Wellings. Geoff left British Telecom to form
the company having spent the previous 10 years gaining extensive
experience within the organisation. His role within BT ranged
from installing telephone exchanges, through to switch board
maintenance.
Check Communications Ltd was able to take advantage of
the grown in integrated products that are now widely available
because of the foresight and experience gained in the years
prior to being established. It had become obvious to Geoff
that voice communications and data
networks would converge, and it was felt that there
was room within this ever expanding communications market
for a company that could harness the emerging ISDN network
whilst being responsive in it’s ability to provide
exemplary aftercare to clients.
These leading edge attitudes lead Check Communications
Ltd to be the first dealer in the UK to supply and install
an ISDN Panasonic DBS.
Determination to provide a service of the highest standard
ensured that the company gained accreditation to BS EN ISO
9002 just 5 years later, for all three statutory disciplines,
Installation, Maintenance and connection to BT Network.
All of Check's engineering staff are multi skilled and have
attended all of Ascoms training courses, therefore qualifying
them to install and support all of the products and services
Ascom supply, from the basic phone system through to networking
with QSIG and CTI solutions. This commitment has lead to
Check Comms being awarded 'Solution Provider' status, the
top accolade, given by Ascom to their dealer base. Indeed
for two years running the company has been awarded Ascoms
'Ascotel Dealer of the Year' award.
The final cornerstone of the Check product portfolio was
put into place with the introduction of the marvellous Axxess
Products from American manufacturing giant Inter-Tel.
Outstripping near rival Avaya (formally Lucent) in their
home country, Axxess is a thoroughbred Call
Centre system capable of some 25,000 devices, and support
unrivalled software programs for call distribution and statistical
information. Check Communications and Inter-Tel have worked
together to provide innovative and groundbreaking solutions
